PEAK OF PERFORMANCE NEWS

General Manager Comments

Welcome to the 30th Anniversary of the Alberta Pork Congress! It’s been a great pleasure to be associated with this event for many of these thirty years, whether I was living in Alberta, British Columbia or Saskatchewan. I’m pleased and proud to be President of this year’s Pork Congress. I wish everyone continued success in finding help from any and all of your suppliers to improve production systems and financial gains.

You will notice our new display for this show. It shows our boldness and strength in the pork industry. The display has sufficient flexibility to offer new ideas in a comprehensive fashion in future years. Thanks to Jason and Pearl for organizing the display format.

We’re very proud to congratulate the winners of our Lowest Warranty Awards for 2003. A number of our customers are able to introduce replacement boars and gilts into their herds with very little problem. We continue to have perennial winners as well as new winners in both the boar and gilt categories..

Territory Managers

Les, Mike and Paul are here to meet with their attending clients. Be sure to meet with your territory manager to confirm orders or to voice any concerns you have.

Our fellows worked hard this past year to bring you quality breeding stock, whether for fills or as regular replacements.

GROWTH in Hog Marketing

PEAK clients are highly successful at marketing their hogs to Maple Leaf Foods, AB and MB; to Masami Meats, OR; to Worldwide Pork, SK and to OLYMEL, AB.

As to market hog barn cleanouts, J&M Meats in Warburg, AB returns the highest price for hogs that won’t achieve the weight core at other plants.
