Welcome to the 2011 Alberta Pork Congress! We’ve enjoyed working with our clients and industry partners over the past year, even in gloomy market returns and ongoing cost/price squeezes. Our pork industry will continue successfully for the coming year because of particular interest from producers and their intensity in assuring high productivity.
We offer our congratulations to the individual winners of the Alberta Pork Congress Awards – in Lifetime Achievement, Pork Industry Leadership and Farm Team as well as the OLYMEL top awards for producer hog marketings.
We’re very proud to congratulate the winners of our Lowest Warranty Awards for 2010. Many of you in our customer base are able to introduce replacement boars and gilts into your herds with very little problem. We continue to have perennial winners as well as new successes in both the boar and gilt categories.

Territory Managers
Our representatives Art Goelema and Paul Klingeman are here to meet with all their clients. We also invited Les Robinson back to join us this year.
Find your territory manager to confirm orders or to voice any concerns you have about pig quality.
In-barn visits should also provide you with good advice in a number of management areas.

GROWTH in Carcass Quality:
OLYMEL results on settlement slips for Neu Muehl Colony in February show very good carcass quality. Achieving carcass quality requires that most every hog be delivered with a carcass weight between 85 kg - 105 kg – this load was 92% in the 85 kg – 99.9 kg range.
