PEAK OF PERFORMANCE NEWS

General Manager Comments

The Directors and Staff at PEAK Swine Genetics wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year in 2009! We count our blessings and give thanks for the many things we’ve achieved, and received, for our benefit over the past year. I truly hope the pork industry will be better in the coming year, with hog prices to more than match the cost of production. Our sale of purebred pigs for in-house Summit gilt breeding and selections allows you to minimize your costs.

We all wish you every success in the coming year!

We are luckily able to find that there are several herds repopulating in late 2008 and early 2009. It is a terrific consideration for the anticipated success in the pork industry upcoming in 2009 that they have the foresight and fortitude to get back into the pig industry during a low time in hog prices. Buying low and selling high is the axiom for making money!

Peak Customers

We welcome Newell Colony’s purchase of Trailblazer boars.
We truly appreciate all of our customers still in the hog industry during these times.

PEAK BookOf World Records

Deerfield Colony is having great success in its farrowing barn. “Supersow” has farrowed 66 live pigs over 4 litters, with 18 piglets in each of the last two. There were ten sows and three gilts weaned the week of October 5 weaning a total of 166 piglets (12.7/litter).
Les Robinson claims this was one of his best barn visits – the rooms were spotless and everything was in its place; sows and pigs looked in terrific condition!
