PEAK OF PERFORMANCE NEWS

General Manager Comments

The Directors and Staff at PEAK Swine Genetics wish everyone a very Merry Christmas as well as a Happy and Prosperous New Year in 2008! We count our blessings and give thanks for the many things we’ve achieved, and received, for our benefit over the past year. Hopefully the pork industry will be better in the coming year, with hog prices to more than match the cost of production. We all wish you every success in the coming year!

My recent visit to China resulted in a number of important signings for PEAK Swine Genetics, partnering in Polar Genetics Group, resulting in Letters of Cooperation between Polar Genetics Group and Heilongjiang Provincial Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau to develop a Swine Improvement Program and a Swine Artificial Insemination Centre as well as a Livestock Technology and Exchange Centre with Jiamusi Municipal People’s Government in Heilongjiang Province. These two efforts will do much to generate a rapport for swine genetics work between Canada and China. Alfred Wahl and Jurgen Preugschas have been appointed Senior Advisors to the Heilongjiang Swine Improvement Association, to promote the development of the pig industry in that Province. There should be an interesting exchange between the two Provinces for improving our pork industries.
